In my opinion this lowe's should be thankful there isn't any competition in Elkin. Customer service is lacking in all departments.

Worst Lowe's I've ever shopped at. Can't find anyone to help, and when you do they are no help. Online inventories show Close to 50 privacy fence sections and no one can find them. Inventory shows a dozen air compressors with tools, no body can find them either. I would suggest corporate Lowe's to step in and fix these issues. They've lost a few thousand dollars worth of sales just from me alone.

Good store for almost any thing you need. Good prices too.

Every time I have needed help, except for one time, someone has always helped me. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. They had a sign up that said they would price match and beat by 10%. I tried to price match something but they said they could not beat it by 10% that the promotion had ran out 2 months prior. I understand when a policy changes but if you have 2 months to take a sign down then it should be down. I was told it happened quite often and several customers complained about it. Next time, they need to pay more attention to the signs they have up and honor what it says especially if it is their fault for not taking it down. Other than that, it is a great place for any DIY project or home renovation you have taking place.

Horrible door install experience! I went by the store on July 30 to request someone to come measure for 3 doors I wanted installed. No one had contacted me 4 days later so I called the store. I was transferred and no one ever answered. So the next day I called and again no one answered my call after being transferred. Finally, I decided to just go by the store and talk to some. Luckily, Brian who I’ve worked with before was there and he assured me someone would call the next day to setup an appointment. (Brian is the reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1, he’s great.) Finally, Foothills Pro Services called to setup an appointment. I tell the guy that comes that I wanted the existing storm doors reinstalled and he says he can and proceeds to tell me what has to be done in order to reattach the doors. Then comes the basement door. The guy immediately starts shaking his head and saying it would be a tough job. Then he proceeds to tell me that a custom door would be $500 and that I should go to a salvage place and just cut down a wooden door. I questioned whether the entire metal door frame should be removed and replaced since it was rusted at the bottom. To which he replied no it can’t be because the metal frame was cemented into the block wall. He didn’t even want to measure it but I insisted because the door desperately needed to be replaced. When he did measure, he measured crooked but I didn’t say anything because I assumed he was a professional and knew what he was doing. The next day someone from Lowes called me but I was at work. So when I returned his call I had to go through the same ordeal as before. I’d call, get transferred then no one would ever answer. So again I go to the store so I could get something accomplished. I stood in the store for close to two hours so the guy could figure out how to order a door and have everything paid for together so I could receive the deferred interest. Again, Brian was the only one who could fix whatever the issue was.I get a call a couple of days later to schedule a time. The same guy who measured came to install. I show him where the doors were and he immediately says I see you ordered a basement door and looks at me like I’m an idiot to which I replied it was only $180, since he told me it would be $500. I remind him that I want the storm doors rehung and he says this time that he didn’t know if he could and gives me excuse after excuse as to why he couldn’t. He gets the first door installed and then has me look at it. To which I have to remind him again that I want the storm door back on. He looks at it and tells me maybe he can get it to work. Which he eventually does. However, the other screen door he is not able to reattach. Even though when he came to measure he said he could. Then the nightmare begins with the basement door. Apparently, they didn’t cut out for the hinges right (probably because he measured crooked). Later he shows me he had to bend the frame in order to install the door. At the time I didn’t notice the 1/4 inch gap between the door and frame because he was pointing out other things. He says the frame needed to be replaced (the same one I asked to be replaced and he told me couldn’t be). He did a terrible job of cleaning up. He swept up one pile and I swept up two more after he left. Plus he ended up leaving one of the old doors and I ended up with a screw in my car tire from his lousy cleanup. I was contacted the next day by Lowes I explained to them what occurred. Two days after that and the basement door gets stuck and won’t open. I call Lowes and they said Foothills pro services would call me the next day. I waited three days no call back. I call Lowes again apparently it’s too late at 5 for them to do anything so they said someone would call me the next day. That was 5 days ago. At this point I’m done with Lowes Home Improvement and will never shop there again. It’s October and 2 1/2 months after I first inquired about the doors. Oh and they never refunded my money for coming out to measure. Terrible customer service!
